  • How We Remove The Labels Process (DONT REMOVE ANY LABELS OR STICKERS)
Step 1: Preparation and Safety Before starting the label removal process, proper safety precautions are taken to ensure a safe working environment. This includes: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Team members are required to wear gloves to protect against the heat and any potentially sharp or abrasive label edges. Safety glasses and protective aprons may also be used. Workspace Setup: The area is prepared with sufficient ventilation, especially if adhesives or chemicals are involved, to avoid inhalation of fumes. A clean, flat surface is used to lay the products that require label removal. Step 2: Using the Heat Gun for Label Removal The main step involves applying heat to the label to soften the adhesive, making it easier to remove without damaging the product surface. The heat gun process is as follows: Heating the Label: A specialized heat gun is held at a safe distance (typically around 4–6 inches) from the label, and warm air is directed toward it. The heat gun is usually set to a moderate temperature (between 200°F to 500°F, depending on the material and adhesive type). Effect of Heat: The hot air softens the adhesive underneath the label, causing it to loosen and release from the product's surface. At this stage, the label may begin to curl or bubble as the heat causes the glue to break down. Monitoring: The team monitors the heat application to ensure the product or packaging is not overheated, which could cause warping, discoloration, or other damage. The goal is to focus only on the label area. Step 3: Removing the Label Once the adhesive has softened: Peeling the Label: After the label has been heated for a sufficient time (usually 1-3 minutes), team members carefully begin peeling it off by lifting one corner or edge with a tool (such as a plastic scraper or their hands, depending on the heat and the material). Handling Residual Adhesive: If any adhesive residue remains on the product, it may be gently scraped off or cleaned with a mild adhesive remover or cleaning agent to restore the product’s surface. Step 4: Label Discoloration (Turning Black) During the heat application, it's common for certain types of labels (especially those with ink-based printing or sensitive adhesives) to undergo a color change. This is part of the process where: Heat-Induced Blackening: The intense heat may cause the printed material (usually paper or plastic) to darken, often turning it black. This blackening is a sign that the label has been sufficiently affected by the heat, indicating that it is ready to be removed. Avoiding Product Damage: Special care is taken to ensure the heat is not so intense that it causes irreversible damage to the product, such as causing discoloration or distortion, especially for heat-sensitive products. Step 5: Shredding the Labels Once the labels are removed and blackened from the heat exposure, they are not disposed of in their original form. Instead, they are shredded for security, recycling, or proper disposal: Shredding Process: The labels, now soft and malleable due to the heat, are fed into a shredder. Depending on the nature of the labels (e.g., paper, plastic), a specialized industrial shredder is used to break down the labels into fine strips or confetti-like pieces. Shredding for Confidentiality: This step is especially important if the labels contain confidential or sensitive information, as the shredding ensures that they cannot be reassembled or read by unauthorized individuals. Environmental Responsibility: If the labels are made from recyclable materials, the shredded paper/plastic can be collected and sent to recycling facilities for proper disposal. Step 6: Final Clean-Up and Product Quality Check Final Inspection: After the labels are removed and the products are cleaned, a thorough inspection is done to ensure that the surface of the product remains intact, undamaged, and free from any remaining adhesive. Clean Workspace: The team ensures that the workstation is cleaned and that any remaining label fragments or adhesives are properly disposed of in an eco-friendly manner.
